Data
Last week, I got to watch the rat surgeries which were absolutely fascinating. The anesthesia still blows my mind. This week, I will be reading a few articles and collecting cylinder data. Nothing too exciting really for this week, just more work. As for next week, I will be cracking down on exam studying for the most part, but I will be taking Dr. Reves, a brilliant doctor and member of the board at/from MUSC to lunch at Lana. Also, in the near future I will be working in both the ICU and ER the day before and after Christmas!

More Surgery
Today, I helped Zack, the research tech run tests, watched the beginning to a rat surgery, and learned (A LOT) about strokes! It was awesome! In the beginning, Dr. Adkins anesthetized the rat by putting it in a little box gas chamber; it was fascinating. The rat slowly fell asleep and became limp just like a human would in a surgery. She then test it to make sure it had enough anesthesia gas in it and adjusted it as necessary. Lastly, she put the rat on the operating table, and started the surgery. I truly enjoyed today because it was so interesting.

Back to Work
This past week, I went to MUSC all three days and finished my data collecting. Tonight, I will be reading a new article. This week, I will be watching surgeries and on Thursday, I'll collect data for the latter tests. I'm especially looking forward to the surgeries!
